Martial arts college competition held in Nantong
The 2018 Nantong College Students Martial Arts Competition, jointly organized by the Nantong martial arts association and Nantong martial arts research institute, took place at Nantong Shipping College, East China’s Jiangsu province on Nov 18.
More than 300 students from nine colleges and universities, including Nantong University, Nantong Shipping College and Nantong Vocational College of Science and Technology, participated in this year’s competition.

The martial arts competition was established in 2009 and was originally held biennially. Due to the increasing number of martial- arts- practicing students, the competition is set to be held annually from this year, according to the president of the Nantong martial arts association, Ma Shuming.
The preparatory committee of Nantong college students martial arts association was founded during the competition. Additionally, it invited Qian Yuanze, one of China’s top 10 martial artists to act as a counselor.
