Qidong plans to expand the Qidong Binhai wetland reserve with an area of 19,100 hectares to promote the Binhai wetland ecological system and protect intertidal biodiversity.

The Qidong Binhai wetland reserve is located in the peripheral ocean areas of Lvsi Port town, in Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu province. It is a typical mixed wetland system of offshore, coastal and intertidal zones.
