The Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Xingbo Investment and Management Center on the "Port City and Waterborne Township" pastoral complex project.

With a total investment of 300 million yuan ($43.67 million), the project will cover a construction area of 479.25 mu (about 31.95 hectares). It will be sited in Siqiao village of Yangkou Port economic zone, and the construction work is arranged to start at the end of September or in early October.

Innovated by the comprehensive development mode of "agriculture plus cultural tourism and real estate", the pastoral complex project will build an "Oriental Venice" integrating waterborne landscape, leisure agriculture, cultural tourism and a pastoral community. Five project clusters including comprehensive services, cultural leisure, daily living, agricultural industry and waterside landscape will be created to form a beautiful multi-industry, multi-function and multi-format pastoral complex in the new rural area.
