Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a First-class Grade three Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and National Demonstration Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It also serves as the Nantong Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Nantong Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University.

The hospital is equipped with complete departments and specialties with distinguished features; it has 25 first-level clinical and medico-technical departments, 13 second-level clinical departments and 800 registered beds.

At present, its TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) surgery department is the key specialty of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; its surgery department is the key clinical construction specialty of traditional Chinese medicine of the National Health Commission of the PRC; its spleen and stomach disease department is the key construction specialty of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and its TCM surgery department and TCM gastroenterology department have been accepted as the key disciplines of TCM of Jiangsu province during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”. Its spleen and stomach disease department, orthopaedic and traumatology department, gynecology department, pulmonary disease department, and nephrology department are provincial key construction specialties.

The hospital also has 11 municipal key specialties.
