Nantong Tumor Hospital is the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Nantong University and the Fifth People's Hospital of Nantong. Founded in 1972, it is one of the two first-class Grade Three hospitals specialized in tumors, and the first president of the National League of Prefectural Tumor Hospitals. The hospital consists of a northern campus located in Pingchao town, Tongzhou district, Nantong, and a southern campus located in the main urban area of the city. 

The hospital has 1,200 registered beds, and is equipped with 30 clinical and medico-technical departments. The departments of radiotherapy and pathology are key clinical specialties of Jiangsu province and the municipal clinical medical center, while the Institute of Tumors and the departments of oncology, imaging, hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery, tumor care, gynecologic oncology, and the medical laboratory have become key medical resources of Nantong. The department of anesthesiology is the unit of key discipline construction of Nantong, and the departments of urology surgery, gastrointestinal oncology, thoracic surgery, head and neck surgery are medical innovation teams of Nantong. The departments of gastroenterology, hematologic lymphoma, and mammary glands, together with another 11 departments, are key clinical specialties of Nantong, while the departments of respiratory medicine, nuclear medicine and interventional medicine are three of its key clinical construction specialties.
