Guangjiao Temple in Nantong, Jiangsu province [Photo/fo.ifeng.com]

Guangjiao Temple, first built in 669, has a history of more than 1300 years. Back then, Langshan Mountain was an island. People had to go there by boat to pay worship, hence the temple was named Cihang Yuan (meaning benevolent voyage temple). Later it was changed to Guangjiao Temple.
